What is LucentMark?
LucentMark is developing clear, made-to-fit window inserts for portable air conditioners. LucentMark window inserts are designed to provide a rigid window seal and a dedicated connection for the portable air conditioner exhaust hose, creating a cleaner and more secure alternative to fabric seals, cardboard, tape and poorly fitting generic window kits.
Each insert will be made to order and manufactured in Australia for the customer's window.
Is a LucentMark window insert just a piece of acrylic with a hole cut in it?
No. A secure exhaust-hose connection is a core part of the LucentMark window insert design.
The finished insert will include a dedicated connector designed to hold the portable air conditioner exhaust hose securely to the panel rather than simply requiring the hose to be pushed through a loose opening.
The aim is to provide a complete window-venting solution, not simply custom-cut acrylic.
What window types will LucentMark support?
The planned launch range includes suitable:
- Casement windows
- Awning windows
- Sliding windows
- Sliding doors
Not every individual window configuration will necessarily be compatible. Hardware, frames, screens and opening geometry can vary, so clear compatibility guidance will be provided before ordering.
What if I don't know what type of window I have?
You won't need to know technical window terminology.
Our ordering and measuring guides will use photographs and simple examples to help you identify your window type and determine whether a LucentMark window insert is suitable.
Will LucentMark window inserts work with sliding windows even though portable air conditioners usually include a sliding-window kit?
Yes. Sliding windows and sliding doors are part of the planned range.
Many portable air conditioners already include basic adjustable window kits, but LucentMark window inserts are intended to provide a cleaner, more rigid, made-to-fit alternative with a secure exhaust-hose connection.
Will a LucentMark window insert work with my portable air conditioner?
LucentMark window inserts are being developed around common portable air conditioner exhaust hose sizes and connections.
The exact compatibility options are still being finalised and tested. Before orders open, we'll provide clear guidance so you can confirm that your portable air conditioner is compatible.
Will the exhaust hose connect securely?
Yes. This is a non-negotiable part of the product design.
Every LucentMark window insert will include a dedicated connection between the exhaust hose and the acrylic panel. It is being designed to avoid the loose connections and makeshift taping that can allow an exhaust hose to disconnect or fall back into the room.
The final connector design is still undergoing prototype testing.
Will I need to tape the exhaust hose into the window?
No. The finished product is being designed specifically so that taping the exhaust hose into place is unnecessary.
The exhaust hose will connect to the dedicated fitting incorporated into the LucentMark window insert.
Will a LucentMark window insert seal the window better than a fabric seal or makeshift setup?
LucentMark window inserts are being designed to create a rigid, made-to-fit installation that reduces unnecessary gaps around the window opening and provides a secure exhaust connection.
Actual performance will depend on the individual window and installation, but the goal is a cleaner and better-sealed setup than loose or improvised solutions.
Will a LucentMark window insert make my portable air conditioner more energy efficient?
We aren't claiming a measured reduction in electricity consumption at this stage.
However, the product is designed to reduce unnecessary gaps around the window and help prevent hot exhaust air leaking back into the room. A better-sealed exhaust setup should help the portable air conditioner cool the room more effectively than a poorly sealed installation.
We intend to test this further during product development before making stronger performance claims.
Are LucentMark window inserts suitable for rental properties?
LucentMark window inserts are being designed as a rental-friendly, removable and non-permanent solution.
The intention is that customers can install and remove the insert without permanently modifying the window.
The final mounting methods are still being tested, and renters should comply with any requirements of their individual tenancy agreement.
Will I need to drill holes or permanently modify my window?
The product is being designed specifically to avoid permanent window modifications.
The exact mounting method will vary depending on the window configuration and is still being finalised through prototype testing. Final installation requirements will be clearly explained before orders open.
Can I remove the insert when I'm not using the air conditioner?
Yes. Removability is a core design requirement.
Your LucentMark window insert is intended to be installed when required and removed when the portable air conditioner is no longer in use. It can then be stored for future use.
What happens to my flyscreen?
This will depend on the window configuration.
Some installations may require an existing removable flyscreen to be taken out while the window insert is fitted. We are still testing the final mounting arrangements for different window types, so specific flyscreen guidance will be provided before launch.
How do I measure my window?
Detailed measuring instructions aren't available yet because we're still refining the prototype and installation process.
Before orders open, each supported window type will have a simple measuring guide showing exactly which dimensions are required. Our aim is to make the process as straightforward and difficult to misinterpret as possible.
Is every LucentMark window insert custom made?
Yes. LucentMark is developing a made-to-order product rather than a generic one-size-fits-all window kit.
Your insert will be manufactured using the measurements and configuration required for your window.
Where are LucentMark window inserts made?
LucentMark window inserts will be manufactured in Australia and made to order.
Local production is an important part of the LucentMark model. Rather than sending custom specifications overseas for manufacture, the intention is to produce each customer's insert locally once their order details are confirmed.
How long will it take to manufacture my order?
We don't know the final production lead time yet.
Because every LucentMark window insert will be made to order in Australia, there will be a manufacturing period between ordering and dispatch. We're developing the production process with the aim of keeping that turnaround practical, particularly during peak summer demand.
A clear expected lead time will be published before orders open.
How will such a large acrylic panel be delivered?
LucentMark window inserts will be packaged specifically for transport and shipped directly to the customer.
Packaging methods and freight options are still being tested, including how best to protect larger acrylic panels from damage during courier handling. Final delivery options and pricing will be available before launch.
What happens if my order arrives damaged?
Our final shipping and damage policy is still being developed.
Customers will not be expected to simply accept a product that arrives damaged because of transport. The exact replacement and claims process will be published before orders open.
What happens if I give you the wrong measurements?
We haven't finalised the customer measurement and remake policy yet.
Because LucentMark window inserts are custom made, accurate measurements will be important. We're developing the measuring process specifically to reduce the chance of errors and will clearly explain both the customer's responsibilities and our remake policy before ordering becomes available.
Can I return a custom-made LucentMark window insert?
The final returns policy has not yet been determined.
Because each panel will be manufactured specifically for an individual customer's window, custom products will need a different returns policy from ordinary off-the-shelf goods.
The policy will be clearly published before customers can place an order and will operate alongside the consumer guarantees that apply under Australian law.
When will LucentMark window inserts be available?
The product is currently in prototype development and testing.
We're deliberately finishing the physical product, mounting system, measurement process and packaging before opening orders.
